From 10 to 20 November, an exhibition dedicated to the memory of Kazakhstani figure skater Denis Ten was held in Astana. The exhibition was located in the shopping center Mega Silk Way and anyone who wanted to attend could visit it.
The life story, memoirs, photographs and thoughts of Denis’s friends about him were preserved in this room. At the exhibition, organized by close friends and champion’s family, several stands were presented, and each of them revealed a new side of his creative personality.
Speaking about himself, he modestly avoided definitions and frameworks, preferring to briefly answer the questions: “I am a fan of my business – this is the whole secret”. Photographs taken by Denis, that were unpublished before, were shown at the exhibition for the first time.
In the depths of the hall, the projector showed the brilliant performances of the figure skater at the Championships, backstage footage of his show “Denis Ten and Friends” and exclusive footage prepared for his latest show program. Stands with photos were accompanied by comments from his close people and quotes from Denis himself.
In the center of the exposition there was a mannequin with a suit from his last performance, The Greatest Showman, which he prepared as part of “Denis Ten and Friends” together with other famous figure skaters from around the world, whom Ten invited to be a part of his author’s program.
In addition to photos, videos and costumes with his skates, the exhibition also had a wall with markers for signatures. By the end of the exhibition, there was no space left on it – every visitor wanted to leave a part of himself and show respect for the creativity and art of Denis Ten.
