THEY MUST GO MOVEMENT OF VICTORY AT ALL THE TIMES.
The immortal regiment lives and will live, and will revive again on the ninth of May in Astana at 12:30. In the ninth of May great-grandchildren and children will march in honor of the eternal memory of veterans on Independence Avenue to the square “Otan korgaushylar”.
The immortal regiment is held annually in eighty countries such as Kazakhstan, France, Belarus, Ukraine, Greece, Japan, Russia, Argentina, Spain and others. Kazakhstan joined the movement of the Immortal regiment in 2013 and since then the number of participants is growing every year. Thousands of Kazakhstanis from all over the country annually come out in memory of veterans with photos and stories of victories. On the website of Immortal regiment everyone can share the story of his relative, friend, or family member who was a participant or witness of World War II.
At the moment, the site has exactly 409759 names of heroes, whose names are not forgotten and will never be. The number of names on the site in 2015 was about 270 thousand, but every year the list of heroes is updated with new names. About 120 thousand people will come out to the street on the Victory day to honor the memory of their relative — veteran of the army or navy, partisan, resistance fighter, rear worker, prisoner of concentration camp, blockade, or child of the war.
