Feel the magic of India in Astana

Big Indian exhibition fair took place in Astana From January 18 to February 3, 2019.

This year annual Indian fair opened its doors in “Arujan” shopping entertainment mall, second floor, by the address Zhansugurova 8/1. Working hours are 10:00-20:00, free entrance.

In 2018 Indian fair was located in “Ajar” Astana mall and was noticeably bigger.

Eye catching Indian jewelry, rings with natural stones, Indian incense, souvenirs, tea, spice, household chemicals, dishes, cosmetics, clothes and bags were provided to the attention of the visitors.

Average prices allow you buy one ring for 2000 tenge and two rings for 1500 tenge as a discount.

Variety of products is accompanied by cultural program such as Indian music and dance, Indian women wearing sari can introduce you mehendi – a form of body art which uses henna to draw.

Sellers might be Indian people, but mostly they are Kazakhs or Russians. According to their words, some of them are participating in a fair for the first time, some not. Goods like tea, henna, spice and materials are undoubtedly delivered from India, but it can not be said about cosmetics.

Diana, student of KazUEFMT: «When I see an announcement about this fair in Astana I feel really happy and I know I will go there. I love Indian culture and their anti hair loss shampoos».

Lyazzat, Diana’s friend: «I am here for the first time and I like the atmosphere. I hear this music and I feel like I’m in a movie and I want to dance!».   

 

The fair can be adviced to those who want to feel the Indian atmosphere, though it can not be transferred completely. Also it is a good place to buy an original present or to spend some time if you are a fond of Indian products.
