Astana Civil Service Hub launched the Virtual Alliance of Practitioners

Astana Civil Service Hub launched the Virtual Alliance of Practitioners aimed at assisting governments in combating the global COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the platform contains practical materials reflecting the countries’ experience of the EU, the CIS, the Republic of Korea and international organizations. The virtual platform will expand further with new materials upon availability.

The Virtual Alliance is a digital platform, accumulating existing research, innovative solutions and technologies of the participating countries and partners of the ACSH. Materials, received within the interaction with participants of existing Peer-to-Peer Learning Alliances, are aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration, the quality of public services delivered during the pandemic, as well as eliminating its consequences in the post-crisis period.

The need of Virtual Alliance’s creation was determined, firstly, by the scale of the global emergency, secondly, by increased interest of the experts and practitioners to the materials available in the Hub, and thirdly, by the importance of exchange of experience in developing and implementing innovations in the current conditions.

To date, information on innovative solutions in public administration related to the current situation has already been provided by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Portugal, the Republic of Korea, as well as international organizations such as the UN Volunteers Programme (UNV), the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR, USA) and the DO School Innovation Lab GmbH (Germany).

It should be noted that the experience of Azerbaijan about the online registration of citizens for movement during the quarantine has found its application in Kazakhstan. A similar system was successfully implemented by the akimat of Turkistan, causing interest in other regions of Kazakhstan and the participating countries.

The Virtual Alliance also contains relevant practical and analytical materials in the fields of public administration, education, medicine and economics, prepared on the basis of successful cases in the ACSH participating countries. This digital platform will enable governments, partners, academics and other stakeholders to study the experience of many countries as well as to create their own unique solution based on operative partnership, aimed at enhancement of public administration efficiency in crisis period.

In this regard, the Hub invites everyone to share best practices and results related to the pandemic. All proposed materials are on the Hub’s website and available at the following link.
