In the Astana`s Drama Theatre named after M. Gorky every year before the holiday on May 9 there is a play about the Great Patriotic War. The actors sang military songs, danced folk dances, read poems and letters of heroes who died during the war. The red spotlight heated the atmosphere and added drama to the act. Emotional music excited consciousness therefore in the hall throughout the performance the audience sat silently without making any sound.
The play was attended by teachers and pupils of the 28th school. One of the pupils shared his impressions of the event:
“Every year, we come to the Drama Theatre named after M. Gorky to the theater dedicated to the great victory. Each time the script changes a little, new acts and actions are added, but the essence always remains the same. We are the last generation that saw veterans of this terrible war, that’s why we have a big responsibility. We need to bring to the future generations the horror and scale of those battles. The actors emotionally and professionally brought to us the atmosphere of those days and have shown dignity and courage of our great grandfathers. We must be worthy of their heroism”.
