The international expert community shared their views on improving the system of state and public construction in Uzbekistan. The round table was organized by the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and the Astana Civil Service Hub.
More than 150 representatives of government agencies, think tanks and educational institutions from Asia, America and Europe took part in the round table.
The round table was attended by the First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Akmal Saidov, heads of the academies of public administration of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, the regional office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Speakers noted the achievements of Uzbekistan in the field of reform of the public administration system, human rights and the revitalization of civil society.
In turn, Alikhan Baimenov, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub, noted in his speech that Uzbekistan is one of the active participating countries of the Hub. He further highlighted the factors affecting the quality of public administration and the implementation of comprehensive strategies that follow from the analysis of international experience. He drew particular attention to the importance of ensuring the integrity of the strategic and budgetary planning system; clarity of interinstitutional relationships; optimization of information flows; simplification of business processes within the state apparatus and processes for the provision of public services; public involvement and civic participation.
During the discussion, participants addressed questions to the speakers, discussed ways and directions for further improving the system of public administration and public construction.
