In the center of motherhood and childhood, volunteers are needed to decorate five game rooms: a department of somatics, an emergency room, a department of nephrology, a department of neurology and an orthopedic department. Children spend a long time in the hospital and to brighten up their everyday routine the staff of the center organizes entertaining activities and games for children. Therefore, children need game rooms where they can play and develop.
Psychologist of the oncology department and part-time coordinator of the work of psychologists and social workers NNC MD CF “VMC” Tusupbayeva Lyalla Kairlinovna told about the projects that were conducted in the hospital.
Four years ago, with the arrival of Lyalya Kairlinovna, volunteerism started on this post. Its main goal is to help children and parents who are in the hospital. Over the course of these four years, many projects have been organized that have made children and their parents happy. In the center of motherhood and childhood, the classrooms were equipped with modern smart technologies, game rooms were decorated and converted, excursions were organized, children were often visited by clowns, they were given free tickets to the circus, a “wish tree” was set up in the Khan-Shatyr shopping and entertainment center where children could write their desire (for each desire is allocated up to 25000 tenge), just in the hospital once a month, birthday is celebrated and sewing lessons are conducted on sewing machines. These children go through very complicated medical procedures, and to feel braver before the procedure they pull out a small toy from the “courage chest” collected by volunteers.
“The center of motherhood and childhood helps a lot of people. These are initiative communities, organizations, schools, universities in Astana, NIS, and people who are not indifferent to other people’s pain. The initiative group “Dari Dobro” and their leader Bot Aidabulov, our fairy, “The Good-hearted Club”, the company “Sumsung”, the dentist Murat Medybayev (free treats children), Dinash Mukhtar (provides free tickets to the circus and calls for clowns), Camilla Dusebaeva organizes the “Birthday Day”), Nurlan Algashev (“Fulfill the childhood dream” project), Timur (the “Dream Real” project), Wives of the ASA ambassadors in Astana (presented sewing machines), Asyl-Bala, initiative group good “Creativity for the benefit”, the staff of the center also organize good charitable event, Gulnara Karimova, Dinara Zhakupova and Daniyar Usenov fund “Children of the future” and many others cooperate on a daily basis and help children and their parents in treatment. These people are always in arm’s reach, for which we are infinitely grateful to them”, – Lyaila Kairlinovna.
On December 5, the day of the volunteer passes. The most active volunteers receive thank-you letters and a figurine “A Man of Good Will”. This day, proposed by the UN General Assembly, enables volunteers and various volunteer organizations to show the achieved results, to show the opportunities for volunteering to the general public.
