One of the most popular instant messengers in Kazakhstan – WhatsApp has entered the top ten insecure applications for Android and iOS.
Appthority, a company specializing in the protection of mobile data in the corporate sphere, published a report on popular and insecure mobile applications for the second quarter of 2018.
The first place in the ranking of unsafe applications for smartphones on the Android and iOS platform took messenger from the social network Facebook — Facebook Messenger. The application has also assigned the seventh level of risk out of the ten.
It is noteworthy, that this year Facebook was found guilty by the British government in violation of the law on data protection and has repeatedly been criticized because of the data leakage of social users, as well as the opacity of the privacy policy.
WhatsApp Messenger application got the honorable 3rd place in the list of Android and the seventh level of risk, when the application was in the second place in the list for the iOS platform.
Instagram, Dropbox, and Facebook also are included to the top 10 insecure apps. The leaders of the most popular applications are Cisco AnyConnect in the list for the iOS platform and Microsoft Word for Android.
It is worth noting that WhatsApp Messenger and Facebook Messenger have distinguished themselves in the top 50 most popular applications for Android and iOS platforms, respectively.
