Perhaps the most ambitious and expensive video, according to Aisultan Seitov, was released on March 6, 2018. The music video “Medina” gathered a lot of enthusiastic responses of the audience in a matter of hours. Filming of the video was held in the Almaty region in late February this year. The cast was carefully selected and the main role was taken by Zhandos Aibazov. He also played in the films “He and She”, “Robbery in Kazakh” and the TV series “Zaure”. Medina herself in the video was played by a famous model Aya Shalkar. There were Ardak Kadyrkhan and Edyl Smagulov too and of course the artist himself in the video.
The director of the video is also the author of such videos as “I Got Love” Miyagi, Endgame feat. Rem Digga, “Collaba” by Ivan Dorn, “Lambada” by Scriptonite and T-Fest, “Medal for the Medal” by L’One and others.
“This was our second work with Bahtiyar, so the project was on absolute trust, which is very pleasant and always gives scope for real creativity. We came to the concept of nomads in the autumn, at the studio. When I have listened to the material for the forthcoming album, “Medina” immediately was drawn in my head as a large-scale project with a history. This is probably the most ambitious and expensive video that was made in Kazakhstan, and for me, it is still the most difficult – a lot of people are involved, location is strong. I felt responsibility during the filming, because we show people the culture, the origins, the national color. Battles and stunt effects were performed by professionals working with Hollywood (from Bekmambetov to Disney projects). We even selected specially trained horses for falling, so that no one was hurt. Well, except me. The whole shooting process was in the cold, the temperature was -39°C, but everything that happened was so charged that I noticed it only after the end of the process! “- Seitov commented to the Afisha Daily.
The video is shot in a historical style. The singer laid out a clip on his Instagram, the fans immediately started to compare him with John Snow, the hero from the series “The Game of Thrones”. By the way, the clothes of Kazakhstani designers rara and Ainur Turisbek were used for crating images.
Jah Khalib said that this year he plans to release two albums. The first one will be called “E.G.O.” and will be released on March 16. It will include the tracks “Wow-wow Palehcha” and “Medina”, which are already available on Apple Music. The artist also showed the cover of the upcoming release and backstage from the recording.
