The incident occurred in Uralsk on 27th of October. 20 years old young girl jumped from the bridge over the Chagan River. She was rescued by a police officer passing by.
According to the West Kazakhstan’s Health Department, the call from the policeman came to an ambulance at 1pm by Nur-Sultan’s time.
According to the stories of Zhuldyz Dosumov, a local fisherman, he was fishing 300 meters from the bridge at the time of the girl’s jump, my City reports. The man realized that someone jumped only after he heard a blow to the water. Turning his head in the direction of sound, he saw that he was a man and, judging by the groans and swings of his hands, he was drowning.
Zhuldyz grabbed his things and ran to the river, near which there were already people. I already wanted to jump when I noticed that another man was ahead of him.
The local police officer turned out to be the savior of the jumped girl, who, by sheer chance, was driving by with her mother and children at the moment when she decided to drop off the bridge.
According to a law enforcer, he was driving across the bridge with his family and decided that the girl was standing there just like that, without intent to jump. However, looking in the rearview mirror, the man noticed the moment of the jump.
Then he sharply braked the car, jumped out of it, undressed and jumped after it in an attempt to save the girl’s life. The girl had just a few seconds left, but the man managed to pull her out of the water, after which he immediately called an ambulance and a police outfit.
According to him, he knows nothing about the girl, except for the age of 20 years.
