On April 26, the National Academic Library hosted a creative meeting with a science fiction writer, author of works by Night Watch (Ночной Дозор), Day Watch (Дневной Дозор) and Labirint Otrazheniyi (Лабиринт Отражений) by Sergei Lukyanenko.
The event was attended by writers, journalists, Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan members (Ассамблея Народов РК), representatives of ethno-cultural associations, scientific and creative intellectuals, students and admirers of the writer’s work. Within the framework of the meeting, Lukyanenko spoke about the premiere of the feature film “Chernovik” («Черновик»), based on the author’s work with the same name, answered questions about his creative and professional activities.
On April 11 Sergei Vasilyevich celebrated his anniversary – 50 years – with which he was congratulated by the guests of the meeting. He was given gifts, including a mouse figure (which he collects) and wished, quoting his books, «Diving to the stars. To become the emperor of illusions of all mankind».
Sergey Vasilievich was born in Karatau, in Zhambyl Oblast and during the meeting spoke about his childhood and youth – that he still does not lose touch with Kazakhstan and is always glad to return.
The meeting was attended by the editor-in-chief of the journal «Zarya», where Lukyanenko was published in 1988 – Alexander Yurievich Tarakov. According to Tarakov, Lukyanenko brought his stories clean, without blots and mistakes. Lukyanenko says that publications in Zarya contributed to the success, to which Tarakov responds by saying: “I contributed – not quite right. I did not interfere. ”
Among other things, Sergei Vasilyevich announced the premiere of the film “Chernovik” («Черновик»), which will be released at the cinemas on May 25 and told that the film is as close to the book as possible, showing the trailer of the work.

He answered openly to the questions of journalists from the audience, joked and laughed. Based on the questions, he said that choosing from his own worlds, he would like to be in Spectrum, and Night Watch created this because he did not want to study the canonical world of vampires with their locks, towers and customs, therefore moved them to Moscow.
