April 12 in Kazakhstan, its professional holiday – the Day of Science Workers – is celebrated by representatives of the scientific community. It was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic No. 164 dated October 20, 2011. The date of the celebration was not chosen by chance. This day is connected with the birthday of the person who was at the beginning of the organization of scientific activity in Kazakhstan. We are talking about Academician K.I. Satpaev – the first President of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, who headed it in 1946. Almost all his life man devoted to science and its development in his native Republic. On the day of his birth, the celebration of the Day of Workers of Science in Kazakhstan was timed.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science of the country, the first celebration of the Day of Workers of Science coincided with the completion of the first year of the implementation of the new law on science. Thanks to this law, the basis for building a new national scientific system was created. In particular, Kazakhstan has introduced a new branch of financing and management in the field of science
April 10 in Almaty a solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Science was held in the “Ak Orda”(Ак Орда). The event was attended by famous scientists and academicians, vice-minister of education and science of Kazakhstan T.I. Eshenkulov(Т.И.Ешенкулов) and the chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdrasilov(Абдрасилов). On a holiday of workers of a science the vice-minister of MES RK T.I. Eshenkulov, Chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdrasilov, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.Zh. Zhurinov(М.Ж.Журинов). Academicians A.Ashimov(А.Ашимов), O.Baimuratov(О.Баймуратов), B.Rakyshev(Б.Ракышев), R.Orazaliev(Р.Оразалиев) and T.Sharmanov(Т.Шарманов) were awarded with the gold medal of academician N.Nazarbayev “Ғасыр ғұламасы”. Academician of NAS of the Republic of Kazakhstan I.V. Seversky(И.В.Северский) was awarded a government award medal “Enbek ardageri”(Еңбек ардагері).
