Kazakh television’s 60th anniversary is celebrated this year. March 8, 1958 the first program was broadcasted from the Almaty TV studio. The first Kazakh speakers Nelly Omarova and Zulkhiya Zhumatova congratulated compatriots with the beginning of the television era and the international Women’s day from the other side of the screen. They were given the opportunity to announce the conquest of space by Soviet man, which at that time each anchorman wished to do. Kazakh people were shown a feature film called “Member of the government” then. That is how the very first steps in national TV industry were made, that lead to a huge informational chapter in the history of the republic.
Preparing of the first domestic TV programs and their broadcasting was under the direction of the first director of the Almaty TV studio H. Abylgazin, chief editors S.Nurgalymov, I.Savvin, chief producer L.Galymzhanova, cameramen I. Smirnov, I.Sagitov, artist E.Nemirskyi and others. In 60 years of the last century the Kazakh television switched to a color video, the duration of the broadcast increased from 5 to 7 hours. On April 4, 1994 according to the decree of the president, the republican corporation “Kazakhstan television and radio” was launched. “Kaz Media Center” which became the starting point of the national broadcast is the largest media platform of the country nowadays.
In honor of the anniversary of the Kazakh television, which is an integral part of everyone’s life, many events were held. The veterans of the republican media, whose contribution to the enlightenment of the people is invaluable space,were feasted during those events. International scientific and practical conference “Qazaqstan”: the model of the national channel development “, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Qazaqstan TV channel. The “Qazaqstan” TV channel organized a jubilee festive recording of the “Dara Zhol” TV program dedicated to the celebration. The event was attended by veterans of television who worked at different times on the TV channel “Qazaqstan”. Legendary TV programs such as “Kymyzhana”(Қымызхана), “Tamasha”(Тамаша), “Altybakan”(Aлтыбақан), “Myn da bir rahmet”(Мың да бір рахмет), “Pai-pai 25”(Пай-пай 25), “Aitys”(Айтыс) and many other diverse programs will never be forgotten.
The holding of the second Republican award “Tumar” on March 16 is also significant. 60 years ago Kazakh broadcast has switched to a permanent mode on right that day. It is awarded for the highest achievements in the field of domestic television. 14 nominations were presented there. Dana Nurzhigit and Niyaz Akhmetov became the holders of the title “Best TV Journalist of the Year”. The winner of main nomination of the evening – “The Best Event of the TV season” was the annual music award “Zhyl tandauyi”, organized by the “Khabar” agency and Zhan Mukanov.
A meeting with the national television channels was no less important event. It was held on March 15 in the Eurasian National University. Outstanding journalists of the last century gave words of encouragement to the University students, thanking their predecessors. Wishes of such quantities of the national media industry are always remembered by young journalists who want to link their lives with TV sphere.
