The first of March in Kazakhstan is the Day of Gratitude – the day when ethnic groups deported to our country thank each other and Kazakhs who have accepted the repressed with mercy. In Kazakhstan there are two public holidays : May 1 is the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan (celebrated since 1996) and March 1 is the Day of Thanks (celebrated since 2016). The special day was initiated by President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev and is celebrated on the day of the establishment of Kazakhstan’s Ethnic Assembly.

– Thanksgiving day is like a special occasion when people become thankful for everyone and everything. But personally I think we should be thankful every single day of our lives. So maybe this holiday is a kind of reminder for us.

In addition, The first Thanksgiving Day was held in America, the city of Plymouth, in 1621. The holiday was organized by pilgrims who came from Europe, along with invited local Indians who helped them survive in unfamiliar conditions. Since the 1660s, the holiday began to be held annually.
