Another eco-festival took place within the framework of the project “together brighter” in Astana.
On March 30, the festival “Together brighter” was held in the atrium of the “Khan Shatyr” Entertainment center. The purpose of the event is acquaintance of inhabitants and visitors of capital with the Purposes of a sustainable development. The United Nations Development Program is a partner of this festival. 4000 children from almost 100 schools of the city and 11 organizations of additional education took part in it. 17 master classes were organized for children during the festival. Volunteers from the international student organization called Enactus told children about the goals of sustainable development and showed by experiments how important this or that problem may be. Various musical and dance groups of the capital performed for children. Children were entertained not by cartoon characters, but images of a battery, a garbage can and a plastic bottle. That’s quite unusual, and most importantly enlightening approach to promote the concept to young guests.
Within the framework of the festival master classes for children and young people were held. In addition, guests learned how to provide first aid participants in the meeting. An interactive quest was held, through which they learned about energy-efficient equipment, got acquainted with the concept of socially responsible business. Many school students presented their projects under the single theme “I love my smart city”. Among all those “green people” who got the Thank you letter, there were the youngest scientists.
It is worth noting that this is a similar festival in the framework of the “Together brighter” project. Eco-festival “Astana! Together brighter! Eco-fest – No waste” was held at the 37th school of the capital earlier. “About 10 thousand participants will be brought to Shymkent on April 13. After Shymkent we will go to Aktau, then to Almaty, the chain will continue,” Tatyana Nemtsan, added deputy chairman of the society of significant initiatives foundation.
The event ended with a solemn transfer of the relay race of the Shymkent festival together with the symbolic hourglass. A huge flash mob was arranged by students during the performance of the winners of “Bala Dauysy”.
